bob's money clip. he used a tiny hand saw to cut out the background of this silver dollar.

bob made these silver rings out of dimes, quarters, and half dollars, by hitting the outside of each coin with a spoon. also, each letter of the "coin rings" sign is cut from scraps of celluloid.

heartbreak

bob dodd died today at the age of 91, doing what he loved most... making rings in his garage. he was a generous, kind-hearted, and good-humored friend, and i am a better person for having known him.

to beat back my tears and celebrate bob's life, i'll post photographs and videos here all week. in this video from 2006, bob fixes paul fontana's ring.
